ARE THESE DOORS MADE OF SOLID WOOD? iconARE THESE DOORS MADE OF SOLID WOOD?

The quality solid pine frame forms the foundation of Trendy doors, ensuring a strong and durable construction. The frame boasts a width of 1 ½’’ and undergoes multiple drying processes in specialized heating chambers to maintain the wood's humidity level at around 8%. Depending on the door model, the frame thickness can range from 1 9/16’’ to 1 ¾’. Trendy doors may feature three core types, depending on the model:

  • Solid wood core (comprising natural hardwood filling or MDF)
  • Honeycomb core (filled with honeycomb cells, providing added lightness to the door, thereby protecting the hinges from excessive load while retaining high noise reduction and thermal insulation qualities)
  • Smart core (incorporating technologically advanced, eco-friendly filling, featuring high-density natural wood fiber for additional durability, noise reduction, and thermal insulation)

We utilize high-quality solid pine in the production of our frames, enabling them to be sufficiently rigid and durable to support a heavy 8’ solid core door slab.

HOW CAN I MEASURE MY DOOR SIZE? iconHOW CAN I MEASURE MY DOOR SIZE?

Determining Door Slab Size for Various Configurations To determine the door slab size for single and double door configurations, follow these steps: Deduct 2" from the rough opening width and 1 1/4" from the height to ascertain the door slab size.

11111.png

For example, if the measured width of the rough opening is 35", deduct 2" from the width to determine the door slab size.

11112.png

The 2-inch reduction in width accounts for the standard jamb thickness of 3/4" on each side. This leaves a 1/2" space for construction foam.

11113.png

After subtracting 2" from the width, the resulting value will indicate the suitable standard door width for the 33" wide opening, which would be 32". Any remaining space can be filled with construction foam and covered with prefinished casings.

11114.png

The standard width of Trendy doors casings is 3 1/2". For barn, magic, bi-fold, bypass, and pocket door systems: Please refer to the manuals provided by the hardware manufacturers for specific instructions.

WHAT IS A ROUGH OPENING? iconWHAT IS A ROUGH OPENING?

A typical US rough opening comprises: One key component is the wall stud.
